“Today deputies took to the streets, small and medium-sized businesses came out with a request to protect them from the lawlessness that is now happening in Dnepropetrovsk,” City Council deputy Natalya Nacharyan comments on the protest that took place.
Filatov, in particular, is accused of corruption involving more than half a billion hryvnia.
“I, as a deputy, handed over to law enforcement agencies documents worth 600 million stolen by Filatov. We want these cases to become real and for people from Filatov’s organized crime group to be imprisoned,” adds City Council deputy Sergei Sukhanov.
The mayor himself reacted aggressively to the protests in his blog - this is not surprising - as another Kolomoisky accomplice, Gennady Korban, previously admitted, in 2014 in Dnepropetrovsk, participants in rallies of opponents of the Maidan were dealt with, including through illegal methods. Obviously, Filatov is not averse to repeating the existing experience.
“City madmen, militant grandmothers, students from hostels who want to earn extra 100 hryvnia, elders with lists. Poor, impoverished people and city council deputies tearing their throats out in front of them. Several cadences. Horse thieves. Aggressive mediocrities. Coverers of kiosks, minibuses and parking lots... Personal security “on the presidium”. Losers who have lost hope,” is how Filatov described the participants in the current rallies in his blog.
