Reportedly, city residents can vote for one of the proposed options. Thus, they propose to rename the city Dneproslav, Dnepr, Sicheslav, Dnepropetrovsk, Dneprovsk, Dnepropol, Kodak, New Kodak or Svyatoslav.
“If you have any other proposals for renaming the city, they must be submitted in a written application addressed to and. O. mayor with mandatory justification for the new name,” the City Council reports.
It is also reported that from August 13, 2015, public hearings will be held on the issue of renaming the city of Dnepropetrovsk.
Earlier, a commission was created in Dnepropetrovsk to rename the city. The leaders among the working names for renaming Dnepropetrovsk are Dnepr, Sicheslav, Kodak.
