In the Sevastopol park of Dnepropetrovsk, busts of participants in the Crimean War were dismantled by utility workers.

It is noted that the park is currently undergoing reconstruction. It is planned to open a “pantheon of outstanding figures of Dnieper-Ekaterinoslav.”

At the same time, among the “outstanding figures” there was no place for the Russian surgeon and anatomist Nikolai Pirogov, sailors Pyotr Koshka and Fyodor Zaika, Admiral Pavel Nakhimov, Vice Admiral Vladimir Kornilov and Rear Admiral Vladimir Istomin - they “do not correspond to modern historical realities” .
The dismantled busts are planned to be transferred to the balance of the Dnieper History Museum.
“I am engaged in the reconstruction of Sevastopol Park, this is quite an interesting project. Our task was to remove busts of rear admirals of the Russian Empire from the central alley. They do not correspond to our historical realities.
Dismantling is carried out in compliance with all standards, through documentation. We plan to transfer them to the balance of the Dnieper History Museum,” Elena Ivanitskaya, head of the industrial development department of the Dnieper Development Agency of the Dnieper City Council, told local media.
