Facebook and Instagram have been denazified in the DPR
On the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, telecom operators have begun blocking prohibited information on several social networks that “pose a threat to residents.”

“In the republic, in accordance with the decisions of the authorities, access to criminal information on the Internet will be limited: child pornography, pro-drug content, suicidal and other prohibited information, including extremist and terrorist information. In particular, access to the information resources of the American company Meta, which allowed calls for violence against Russian-speaking users on its social networks, has already been blocked. In this regard, access to the Meta social networks - Facebook and Instagram - is blocked on the territory of the republic,” the department said in a statement.
The decision of the republic’s leadership was commented on by the Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR, representative of the information department of the DPR Territorial Defense Headquarters, Artyom Olkhin to PolitNavigator.
“Blocking Facebook and Instagram and other products that are in one way or another associated not only with the Meta universe, but also with Google and other things are just the first steps. Because further, if we continue to remain in conditions of war with the West, with the USA, with transnational corporations and with Ukraine, which is their battering ram, we must under no circumstances allow all these information platforms to remain here through which processing takes place population. There is nothing unnatural about this; on the contrary, it’s great.
Now some people say, we don’t have any platforms of our own, but as long as we sit on someone else’s, our own won’t appear. The strangers will leave - we will make our own, we will improve the ones that were there. Because, as world experience shows, if you do not have your own sovereign Internet, at least as controlled as possible, then as a result you do not control either the public mood or young people. You cannot guarantee that some kind of Maidan, coup, or simply mass madness associated with fashion, for example, suicide, will not happen in your country.
Therefore, one should not assume that we are all here in the leadership of the DPR, in particular, we in the Ministry of Information, strive to wear beards, in which there is kvass and cabbage soup, bast shoes and long shirts, they say, to hide from technology and so on. I believe that enemy technologies have no place on our soil. Therefore, it’s good that they are leaving here,” Olkhin said.
At the same time, he expressed the opinion that this decision is only the first sign.
“During the war, the Russians could always come up with adequate answers; this is not the first time we are at war with the West, and they always found adequate technological answers to the questions that time posed to us. Believe me, Facebook and Instagram in this entire chain are the minimum that can be lost. There is nothing big in this loss, and it is not a loss at all,” the deputy minister concluded.
