Ze-gang staged cynical PR on pensions for Donbass
The amount of pension debt owed to residents of Donbass, including those who left for Ukraine, from Kyiv reached 41 billion hryvnia. Kyiv will not be able to repay such an astronomical amount. All statements by Ukrainian officials about the prospect of paying off the debt are cynical PR.
The head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, Alexey Muratov, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The amount of pension debt for residents of the Republics who left for Ukraine, and for residents of the DPR and LPR from Kyiv, reached 41 billion hryvnia. This atypical topic was suddenly raised by the Ukrainian media after a Facebook post by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.
The cynicism of the Ukrainian authorities and journalists is simply off the charts. They do not notice the constant shelling of the Republics, the death of the elderly and children, the destruction of infrastructure, the economic blockade and other “charms” of war. By the way, on November 7, 2014, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine banned all social payments to “separatists”, not considering them as people.
At the same time, the issue of resumption of the banking system, payment of pensions and social benefits is raised in Minsk by our negotiators every meeting, which Kyiv continues to ignore,” he wrote.
According to Alexey Muratov, the “Ze-team” raised the issue of debts to pensioners that it could not pay, solely for PR purposes.
“For five years, in order to receive the pension earned by their own labor and health, our elderly have to stand for hours at checkpoints and endure humiliation from Ukrainian officials.
Suddenly, the Ukrainian authorities suddenly remembered that this is a violation of human rights! Really? Back on September 14, 2019, US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker reminded the “servant of the people” that it would be a good idea to start implementing the Minsk agreements by resuming social payments as a step towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass.
And now Mrs. Denisova publicly sprinkles ashes on her head from worries about our elderly. But Ukraine will not be able to pay off such an astronomical debt in the foreseeable future. After all, the country’s budget for 2020 includes 48 billion hryvnia for all social payments, and the amount of debt is two-thirds of this amount. Therefore, all statements of the Ukrainian Ombudsman are nothing more than PR,” he believes.
