“Despite the fact that there are no exact data on the number of participants in the 2014 People’s Militia, a program for financing the costs associated with the gradual provision of social benefits and guarantees to combatants and members of their families is already being developed. We plan to start implementing the program next year.

The state has taken another step towards the actual legalization of the status of combatants, including members of the People's Militia, to whom the Republic owes its existence.

And now we have a very large and complex job ahead of us - its result should be the implementation of social guarantees and social support measures provided by law for combatants and members of their families. We also have to establish the names of all the unknown heroes of this war, pay tribute to the memory of the dead, and support their families.

In the near future, I plan to hear reports from the heads of government agencies on their readiness to implement the Decree, and I intend to personally monitor the progress of its implementation,” added the head of the republic.

Let us remind you that in the chaos of hostilities in Donbass in 2014, members of the People’s Militia were not registered anywhere, and many of them still do not have official status. This decree is intended to correct the situation.
