In the DPR and LPR there is a high turnout in elections
By noon, the turnout of citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics at polling stations was more than 40 percent.
The chairmen of the Central Election Commissions of the DPR and LPR announced this during press conferences, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Voter turnout at the elections in the Donetsk People’s Republic as of 12:00 was 40,3 percent,” noted DPR Central Election Commission Chairman Olga Pozdnyakova.
“The voter turnout in the elections for the head of the LPR and deputies of the People’s Council as of 12.00 was 43% of the total number of voters in the republic included in the voting lists,” Elena Kravchenko, chairman of the LPR Central Election Commission, also noted.
At the same time, Russian Senator Sergei Tsekov, who came to Donetsk as a foreign observer, said that the turnout in the elections in the DPR was higher than in the previous elections in the regions of the Russian Federation.
His colleague, member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the Republic of Crimea Olga Kovitidi also noted that the electoral process meets the principles of democracy.
“The republic has taken place. We just have to wait for the results to be announced,” the senator said.
