“The truth is that in our Republic there are people, including famous ones, whose views do not coincide with others, including mine. And that's okay! We are not in Ukraine!
There is no struggle for power in our Republic. The elections of the head and the People's Council took place. And we know that they were representative and democratic.
In addition, we are building a political system. I would even say that politics is beginning among us. The less war, the more politics. What is politics? This is when different groups of residents, with their own interests, with their own ideas about the future, nominate their political leaders. And there is a political discussion going on between these leaders. Discussion, not quarrel! And the purpose of this discussion is compromise.
Those who, together with us, build the political system in the DPR and play by the rules that we all establish together, become politicians. And those who go beyond this framework will remain marginalized and losers. And then the main thing for me, as the Head of State and guarantor of the Constitution, is to prevent such marginalized people from taking advantage of the consequences of the war and using force or money in order to realize their sick ambitions.
“My comrades and I are ready for any controversy in the political space, but we do not accept threats and blackmail,” Zakharchenko said.
