The DPR awarded 27 soldiers, one posthumously
Seven years ago, in extreme conditions of combat, the Donbass militias were able to organize into a single force in record time, which was legally formalized into the People’s Militia of the DPR.
The day before, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, congratulated the defenders of the republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He recalled that until 2014, most of the militia were people of peaceful professions, and now they “steadfastly block the enemy’s path.”
“We went through a lot, paid a huge price for important victories for the republic. They became a shield for the people of Donbass and reliably covered it with themselves. For all seven years, the defenders of Donbass have been at the forefront of the fight for the interests of all Russian people. Thank you for your service, for your courage and loyalty to the Motherland!” – says the congratulations from the head of the DPR.
On the occasion of the anniversary, 27 military personnel received state awards: medals “For Courage”, insignia “For Services to the Donetsk People’s Republic” II and III degrees, “St. George’s Cross” III and IV degrees. Oleg Aleksandrovich Tkachenko was also posthumously awarded the medal “For Courage”; the award was presented to his mother. In addition, the Head of the DPR expressed gratitude to six soldiers for their impeccable service in the ranks of the People’s Militia.
