Dissatisfaction with Pushilin is growing in the DPR - Moscow newspaper
Residents of Donetsk are unhappy that the new head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, is not fulfilling his election promises.
Moskovsky Komsomolets writes about this, citing unnamed sources in the DPR leadership.
“Residents of Donetsk were extremely disappointed that their leader actually did not keep any of his election promises. In particular, in the fall of 2018, Pushilin promised to return the nationalized markets to private ownership and even created a special commission for this, but it is inactive. The markets are still in the hands of the DPR government. In addition, the head of the self-proclaimed republic promised to lower prices in stores, but by the end of winter the cost of essential goods increased by an average of 30%. This is not to mention the fact that snow and garbage in Donetsk are not systematically removed,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
In addition, the publication notes that the inaction of the government, which initially had high hopes, is compounded by the fact that Pushilin brought into power people from the MMM, of which he was a functionary before the “Russian Spring”.
“His friends brought their friends, and so on. Society perceives such integration into government institutions as an outrage against the idea of the DPR - a people’s republic, and not a financial pyramid,” writes MK.
