The state border of the Donetsk People's Republic was legally defined within the former Donetsk region before the outbreak of military conflict in 2014.

The corresponding norm is spelled out in the adopted law “On the State Border of the DPR.”

“This law does not forget those people who live in the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine. Therefore, the border is determined by the territory of the Donetsk region, which was for the period of 2014,” Bidyovka said.

According to the head of parliament, until the military conflict with Ukraine is resolved, the DPR border will temporarily run along the line of contact, which does not contradict the Minsk agreements.
