The DPR again demands that Ukraine allow its environmental inspectors to enter Donbass chemical enterprises
Representatives of the DPR at the negotiations in Minsk continue to insist on the admission of experts to potentially dangerous enterprises under the control of Ukraine in order to minimize the risks of an environmental disaster in the region from the actions of Ukrainian troops.

This was stated to journalists in Donetsk by DPR Human Rights Commissioner Daria Morozova, a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“We have been raising this topic in Minsk for two months. Risks were presented for the Avdeevsky Coke and Chemical Plant, the Dzerzhinsky Finishing Plant, etc. Unfortunately, the topic of verification and exchange is dragging on, so we wrote a letter to the coordinator stating that the topic of ecology at the next meeting, which will take place on May 15, should be the first,” said the Ombudsman.
She noted that the DPR has repeatedly addressed this issue to various international organizations, in particular to the UN, ICCA and others.
“A joint inspection has been created in the DPR, since most of the specialists who previously served these facilities beyond the demarcation line are with us. We require our specialists to be allowed to inspect facilities that are critical to us. Because if something happens, it will affect both our and the temporarily occupied territory of Donbass, as well as a large number of regions of Ukraine,” added Morozova
During the briefing, she referred to the international protocol of August 12, 1949, Article 35 of which prohibits the use of methods or means of warfare that cause, or are likely to cause, widespread, long-term and serious damage to the natural environment.
