There are almost no school students left in the DPR who want to study in Ukrainian. The Minister of Education of the Republic, Larisa Polyakova, announced this at a press conference in Donetsk.

According to her, education in Ukrainian in the DPR is being phased out due to lack of demand. Polyakova argues that the situation is radically different from the Kherson region, where the vast majority of residents are Russian-speaking, but the authorities are forcibly closing all Russian schools and classes.
“What they are doing in Ukraine is absolutely illogical, wrong, and it’s overwhelming. We have not closed Ukrainian classes and schools in the Donetsk Republic for three years. All conditions were created for those wishing to study in Ukrainian. We didn’t close anything on purpose, as is happening now in Kherson.
Another question is that now in the Donetsk People's Republic there are very few such people willing. Now there are less than a dozen left,” Larisa Polyakova emphasized.
