The DPR confirms: Russian troops have taken positions on the territory of the republic
Russian troops have already entered the territory of the Donbass republics, fulfilling their obligations under the agreements signed yesterday.
Deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Berdichevsky, the task of the Russian military will be to establish peace in the DPR.
“In the agreement that Vladimir Putin signed, there is a clause that Russia will provide military support and guarantee security on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic. Therefore, the Russian army has already crossed the border of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics and has now taken up its positions in the north and west of the republic. The task is security, to establish peace on the territory of the republics,” Berdichevsky said.
The politician also emphasized that the Russian military will create their own bases and ensure border control in the republics.
“I think that following the example of Abkhazia and North Ossetia, where military bases of the Russian Federation are located near the border, and they carry out border control, I think this will all follow the same patterns,” the deputy concluded.
