An MLRS more powerful than the Uragan appeared in the DPR
The DPR has developed a new MLRS system that makes it possible to destroy enemy personnel and equipment at short distances to the front line.
The Minister of Revenue and Duties of the DPR, Alexander Timofeev, announced this on the air of the Donetsk Format program, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, this system has more powerful characteristics than the famous Soviet Hurricane.
“The task was set to develop our own weapons systems that were guaranteed to cope with the assigned tasks. By decree of the head, a state innovation company was created, which took upon itself the entire burden of tasks to solve these problems... For example, take the Grad system - it shoots well, it gives you a nightmare - yes, but this is only in terms of the manpower of the enemy who is going on the offensive . If a Grad shot hits a tank, the tank doesn’t even notice it.
The next system is “Hurricane”. Firstly, the firing range is under 100 kilometers - the question is why do we need a firing range of under 100 kilometers when our front line is this. We don’t fight civilians and don’t shoot where we don’t understand. Therefore, a machine was created with a firing range of 10 kilometers - this is exactly the 1st and 2nd lines. In terms of power, we overtook the Hurricane. Here in the Hurricane, the charge power, depending on the modification, is 30-50 kilograms, here we have 40 kilograms, but there are 12 shots or 16, I don’t remember now, but here it’s 64. That is, in terms of firepower we have surpassed “ Hurricane". We don’t need to shoot that far - we go out and at a distance of up to 10 kilometers we can destroy any target, any well-echeloned positions,” Timofeev said.
At the same time, he clarified that the combat characteristics of the system are so great that they need to be changed, since after the first round there is nothing alive left in the area of fire.
“Today we are guaranteed to be able to destroy 70% of the entire front line. Literally. The latest firing of this system has shown that we are now even reconsidering the tactics of use, because when the first package is fired, the second part of it kills those already killed. There is no point in shooting there again - they are simply split in two there. Therefore, a review of the technical conditions themselves, under which, how and where to shoot, is now underway. They won’t be able to escape; they don’t even have time to get scared. We send it directly there, to the creator, by express. But, on the other hand, we didn’t invite them here,” Timofeev summed up.
