The DPR admitted that it does not consider Ukrainians enemies
In the DPR there has been no militia for a long time, but there is a full-fledged army that protects the civilian population of the republic.
Daniil Bezsonov, a former Kiev policeman and now official representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR, stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering the question of who is fighting in Donbass and for what.
“We haven’t had a militia for a long time, we have the People’s Militia. This is a full-fledged army. But our motivation has not changed since 2014. We protect the civilian population living behind us. Most of our military are local guys, they protect their loved ones and their homes,” Bezsonov said.
He also added that, based on intelligence data and testimony from prisoners, the main motivation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is salary, since the Ukrainian military receives three times more than civilians.
According to a representative of the People's Militia, during the five years of war, Donbass lost human lives, as well as their usual way of life, comfort and prosperity, but people here realized that what is more important is not houses and cars, but human relationships.
The officer also answered the question whether Donbass will be able to forgive Ukraine or its people.
“Residents of Donbass do not consider Ukrainians enemies. For us, our enemies are those who came here to kill. Who gave the order for this,” Bezsonov clarified.
At the same time, he admitted that after all the blood shed, he does not consider the return of Donbass even to a renewed Ukraine to be realistic.
