The DPR has developed a new mortar to solve tactical problems
The DPR began to establish the production of its own weapons. Thus, one of the important achievements made in this direction was the production of a new compact type of mortar, which made it possible to significantly increase firepower.

The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, spoke about this in an interview with the creator of the WarGonzo project, Semyon Pegov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The second thing we started producing was a mortar. The story here is very long, because it’s not enough to produce a mortar, we are still making them, both 120mm and 82mm. We have mines for these mortars, thank you very much to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which at one time supplied and threw a large amount of ammunition. So now we have the ammunition and we make it all easy. To solve a number of problems that arise in a given situation, you need to have a smaller caliber mortar - for a squad or platoon. And under such a mortar we began to make our own mines. We have already solved the problem with them, and are able to make a serial mortar that will provide fire support up to the platoon. Thanks to them, the firepower of the company and battalion increases significantly,” Alexander Zakharchenko told Semyon Pegov.
Then the head of the DPR spoke about the main advantages of this weapon:
“This mortar is significantly different from others. It is easier to take in one hand, and in the other - two boxes of mines, and transfer from the trench to the trench. In addition, there can be up to ten such mortars in a company. In order to use it, you don’t need any special training - you have a direction, an eye, a shell ”.
Alexander Zakharchenko also noted that this mortar can be fired directly from the trench, because its height is up to 60 cm.
