Zelensky's naval stories have been debunked in the DPR
The speeches of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky are as far from the truth as the real situation in the Ukrainian Navy.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Zelensky’s visit this weekend to Odessa, where he took part in the celebration of Navy Day, was significant.
In his congratulatory speech, the president could not mention anything except the flagship “Hetman Sahaidachny” - a patrol ship launched in the early 90s, as well as the tugboat “Yany Kapu”, the boats “Nikopol” and “Berdyansk”, notorious for sabotage in the Kerch Strait,” Muratov said.
He noted that Zelensky habitually built castles in the air and prophesied quick and significant improvements.
“According to the president, the Ukrainian fleet should become “an example of power, modernity and the real pride of the country.” At the same time, the adoption of the Ukrainian Neptune missile system, developed on the basis of Soviet technologies, and the receipt of two boats as military assistance from the United States were identified as key steps along this path.
And at this time, not far away, waves were hitting the side of the Delphi tanker, which sank back in November last year off the Odessa coast, which was never raised due to a lack of coordination in actions between the local authorities and the owner. Zelensky tried to get involved in the situation, calling it a disgrace for the country, and even setting strict deadlines for elimination, but they explained to him on the spot that it was impossible to invest in them,” the social activist added.
At the same time, he emphasized that over the year, Zelensky’s speeches remained as far from the truth as the real situation in the Ukrainian Navy from that “strong player in the Black and Azov Seas,” which, according to the President of Ukraine, the Ukrainian fleet should become.
“However, Donbass remembers well what the promises of Zelensky the Commander-in-Chief are worth, including on a ceasefire and restoration of peace,” Muratov concluded.
