The DPR will solve the problem with queues at checkpoints – Pushilin
The DPR will develop a new mechanism for the operation of checkpoints on the demarcation line with Ukraine to increase their capacity and prevent queues.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this during a meeting of activists of the Donetsk Republic public movement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The issue is really important and pressing. Alas, it has not been on our agenda for the first month or even the first year. Indeed, there are certain difficulties with the passage of citizens through checkpoints from Ukraine.
The experience of the presence of deputies there cannot be called directly positive, because for a certain period the situation changed, and then everything turned back again. Keeping deputies there permanently is not the most effective method.
Here the mechanism must be new and, in some sense, creative, because there are no such examples. We can't just replicate standard border crossings. We don’t just have a border, on the one hand we need to think about the convenience of citizens who cross, on the other hand we need to protect our citizens living on the territory of the DPR from various types of criminal manifestations, including terrorist acts from Ukraine, from which we are not insured,” noted the head of the DPR.
Let us recall that earlier Denis Pushilin also stated that a number of serious economic and social problems have accumulated in the Republic, provoked by officials who continued their managerial work according to the Ukrainian corruption model.
