A Ukrainian drone was shot down in the DPR while it was correcting shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Soldiers of the People's Militia of the DPR shot down a Ukrainian UAV that was directing fire at residential buildings in the republic-controlled settlement of Staromikhailovka.
This information was reported today during a briefing by the official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that the Ukrainian military continues to deliberately fire at residential buildings of civilians in the republic.
Basurin recalled that last week two streets of the village of Staromikhailovka were subjected to massive fire from the Ukrainian military from the 28th mechanized brigade under the leadership of commander Marchenko.
“As a result of the planned shelling, nine residential buildings were damaged. Bullets and shrapnel flew into the windows and walls of the buildings. It was only by luck that this time there were no civilian casualties,” said the official representative of the DPR NM.
However, he added that this was not enough for the Ukrainian military.
“On February 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces again opened fire on Staromikhailovka using 120 mm and 82 mm mortars. At the same time, in order to more accurately hit the village, the mortarmen of the 28th brigade raised a drone into the sky and tried to adjust the fire. Thanks to the defenders of the republic, the criminal plans were not destined to come true. The unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by our military personnel,” Basurin said.
