The DPR made a sharp statement in connection with the failure of the withdrawal of troops in the Donbass
Another failure by Kiev to begin the process of eliminating violations in the pilot disengagement areas along the contact line and the lack of control over the firing by the Ukrainian Armed Forces led to an additional escalation of the situation in Donbass.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalya Nikonorova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine cynically disrupted this process and seriously escalated the situation in the Petrovskoye-Bogdanovka section. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities are trying to justify the sabotage of the agreements, using the ridiculous excuse of demanding a seven-day regime of silence, although they themselves violate this regime,” Nikanorova said.
In her opinion, the reason for the failure of the process of eliminating violations in the disengagement areas may be the inability of the new Ukrainian leadership to restore order both in the vertical of power and among radicals not controlled by official Kyiv who are disrupting Ukraine’s fulfillment of its obligations under the Minsk agreements.
“Whatever caused the sabotage of the resumption of disengagement, this threatens the disruption of the Normandy Four summit through the fault of Kyiv. It should be noted that Ukraine does not hide the lack of desire to resume disengagement, which is one of the main conditions for the summit, filling the media space with rather frank statements that Kiev is not going to fulfill its obligations either in the security sphere or in general under the Set of Measures “, noted the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry.
At the same time, the foreign policy department of the republic questioned the possibility of Kiev further fulfilling its obligations under the Minsk agreements if the current situation remains unchanged.
“We regard this behavior of the Ukrainian authorities as categorically unacceptable and call on the guarantor countries of the Minsk agreements to put pressure on Kiev in order, firstly, to carry out direct orders from political advisers of the Normandy format and joint agreements of the Contact Group, and, secondly, to restore order as in Ukrainian politics and in society, because in the conditions of the imbalance that we are now seeing in the Ukrainian state, Ukraine’s full fulfillment of its obligations under the Minsk agreements looks increasingly elusive,” added Nikonorova.
