The DPR compared the Georgian-Ossetian conflict with the war in Donbass
Russia adheres to the position of a political and ideological settlement of the conflict in Donbass.
Deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Miroslav Rudenko reported this in an exclusive comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The politician made such a statement in the context of the tenth anniversary of the Georgian aggression in South Ossetia, when the Russian armed forces had to force the Georgian army to peace.
“There were peacekeeping units, including those of the Russian army, on the territory of South Ossetia. Georgia's invasion of South Ossetia began with an attack on the peacekeepers' bases and their siege. This was not the first outbreak of conflict. Russia was one of the guarantors of the implementation of the Dagomys agreements on the peaceful resolution of the conflict. In this case, Georgia grossly violated its obligations and provoked a conflict. It was necessary to act quickly. There was an attack on Russian peacekeepers, among others,” recalls Rudenko.
“As for our situation, our situation is different. Our conflict began as a civil one. Thanks to the position of the Russian Federation, it was possible to reduce the intensity of the conflict with the help of a set of Minsk agreements, the diplomacy of the Russian Federation adheres to the position of political and ideological settlement of the conflict,” noted the DPR National Assembly deputy.
