The DPR will speed up the issuance of Russian passports
Additional points for processing and issuing Russian passports will be opened in the Donetsk People's Republic.
This was discussed during a meeting with the leaders of cities and districts of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, instructed the leadership of the department to speed up the procedure for obtaining passports of citizens of the republic, which is a prerequisite for acquiring Russian citizenship.
“I have repeatedly emphasized that the most convenient conditions should be created for residents of our Republic in the process of obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation. In addition, there are problems in obtaining a passport as a citizen of the DPR, which causes understandable dissatisfaction among the residents of the Republic. There is still insufficient interdepartmental interaction to promptly resolve emerging issues,” Pushilin said.
In turn, acting The head of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR, Ruslan Opolonik, said that the department is opening additional points for accepting documents for obtaining a passport.
“The issue of opening additional inter-district points for accepting documents for acquiring citizenship of the Russian Federation in the cities of Donetsk, Makeyevka, Gorlovka and Yenakievo is being considered, which will make it possible to receive up to 200 additional citizens per day,” said the Donetsk official.
Let us recall earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made changes to his decree on simplified granting of citizenship, which will now apply not only to residents of the LDPR, but also to the entire territory of Donbass, where a referendum on independence from Kyiv was held in 2014.
The social movement “Donetsk Republic”, with reference to the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, reported that more than 170 thousand residents of the DPR and LPR have already received Russian passports through the region’s migration authorities in a simplified manner.
