The DPR introduces additional measures to combat coronavirus

The head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, called on the residents of Donbass to take personal responsibility and comply with all prescribed rules in order to prevent an outbreak of the epidemic in the Republic.

“The epidemiological situation in the world with the new coronavirus infection is making adjustments to the lives of each of us. Until now, the preventive measures taken in the Republic have been sufficient, and to date not a single infected person has been identified on our territory.

Unfortunately, in many countries the situation continues to worsen. We see what unprecedented efforts are being made to stop the spread of infection, including in Russia.

I will be absolutely frank with you. For a number of reasons, including economic ones, we cannot afford to completely shut down enterprises and declare some period of non-working, especially since, I repeat, at the moment we have no cases of COVID-19. But we will be forced to declare a state of emergency if we identify infected people, because we put the life and health of our citizens at the forefront. But the consequences of the introduced measures for many representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in our conditions may be irreversible.

Therefore, the main task is to continue to work proactively, not to give the coronavirus a single chance!” said Pushilin.

The head of state also called on residents of Donbass to fight the pandemic together and comply with all measures taken by the Ministry of Health, and spoke about the introduction of additional epidemiological protection measures.

“We are adding additional measures to these recommendations (of the DPR Ministry of Health – editor’s note).

1. Travel to the territory of the Russian Federation is temporarily limited, with the exception of special, emergency cases. We strongly recommend that you avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.
2. All arriving citizens are required to self-isolate for 14 days. Penalties are being introduced for violations of this obligation.
3. On the weekends, March 28 and 29, all catering establishments - cafes, restaurants - are open until 15:00, after 15:00 they switch to order delivery mode. On weekdays, work will continue as usual.
4. All entertainment services will be suspended in shopping and entertainment centers. Retail outlets will continue to operate as usual.
5. The work of sports clubs, fitness centers and other commercial structures in the field of health services on weekends will be limited. They can conduct activities outdoors. Starting from Monday, the working hours are normal, while the management of these structures must prepare remote training methods.
6. The Ministry of Transport has been instructed to implement a set of measures to disinfect public vehicles and counter the spread of COVID-19.
7. We recommend that managers of enterprises of all forms of ownership consider the possibility of remote work for employees.

At the same time, I especially draw attention to the fact that markets and food stores continue to operate as usual,” he added.

After which Denis Pushilin expressed gratitude to the medical workers of the Republic for their selfless fight against a possible epidemic.
