In the city of Makeyevka, located near the capital of the DPR, they began to seriously study the nature of the tremors that occurred the day before, which led to damage to residential buildings in the village of United in the Sovetsky district of the city.

“We are all worried about the situation with tremors of unknown origin, which are increasingly being felt by residents of the village of United in the Sovetsky district of the city of Makeevka. We must not put the life and health of our citizens at risk, nor allow the process to develop uncontrollably.
Today I held an emergency meeting to discuss this issue. Experts have not yet been able to establish the nature of the observed phenomenon, so we are taking unprecedented measures. “I gave instructions to suspend the operation of the Kalinovskaya-Vostochnaya mine, in the area of operation of which tremors are recorded, in order to exclude or confirm a connection,” the head of state said in a statement.
Denis Pushilin also noted that he instructed the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexei Kostrubitsky, to conduct a thorough seismological study of the area in order to identify the epicenter of the tremors.
