The DPR suspected Zelensky of revising the Minsk agreements and called on him to fulfill his obligations
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky “cannot come to terms with the true meaning of the Package of Measures” and wants to revise the Minsk agreements, “reinterpreting them in a way beneficial to the Ukrainian authorities,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is stated in a statement by the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry Natalya Nakanorova.
“In any case, Kyiv will have to accept the fact that before the elections in Donbass it is necessary to carry out a huge amount of joint work with representatives of the Republics to implement the Minsk agreements. In particular, the law on the special status of Donbass should be put into force, taking into account all the necessary amendments to it agreed upon with representatives of the Republics, a constitutional reform to consolidate the special status should be carried out in strict accordance with the Set of measures, modalities of non-admission should be worked out and adopted at the level of law persecution of persons participating in the events in Donbass and much more,” says Nikanorova.
According to her, “any additional demands put forward by Kiev have no relation to reality - neither the representatives of the Republics, nor the mediators of the Minsk process, nor its guarantors will allow a revision of the Package of Measures approved by the UN Security Council and having the status of an international legal act, mandatory to fulfillment."
“If the leadership of Ukraine wants to speed up the holding of elections, which is actually the final of all political issues, then it is better to stop throwing around loud and completely unfounded statements and begin constructive activities - fulfilling their obligations under the Set of Measures,” added the DPR minister.
Let us recall that earlier Vladimir Zelensky once again repeated the position of official Kyiv, which is to not accept the idea of holding elections in the uncontrolled Donbass until the border with the Russian Federation is transferred under the control of the Ukrainian government. Also, according to Zelensky, elections in Donbass should be held with the participation of Ukrainian parties and according to Ukrainian law.
