Donetsk, February 12 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Donbass is now fighting not only for its rights, but also for the rights of all residents of Ukraine, says the plenipotentiary representative of the DPR in the Tripartite Contact Group, vice-speaker of the People’s Council of the DPR Denis Pushilin.

“This is not an easy agreement. It was important for us to switch gears and think a little more broadly about the part of Ukraine where many Russians remain. We couldn’t just forget about them and cross them out, separate ourselves, and come what may. Just like Russia could not forget and disown us,” DAN quoted him as saying.
In turn, DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko said today that the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics signed a new Contact Group document thanks to guarantees provided by Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande.
At the same time, he emphasized that the current agreements are the last attempt at a truce.
