The DPR announced that Ukraine is delaying the agreed deadlines for the withdrawal of troops in the Donbass
The DPR commented on today’s statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Prystaiko about carrying out the previously agreed terms for the disengagement of troops in the Donbass.
This was stated by the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry Natalya Nikonorova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the last meeting in Minsk, it was clearly stated and recorded by the OSCE coordinators that today, October 7, preparatory measures were to begin to eliminate violations of the Framework Decision on the disengagement of forces and assets in the pilot areas in Petrovsky and Zolote in accordance with what was agreed by the parties in Minsk schedule. In particular, today the parties had to notify the OSCE about the current location of their positions in these areas.
On our part, this obligation has already been fulfilled. But Kyiv, instead of following the schedule, decided to fill the media space with completely destructive statements about the alleged shelling of pilot sites and the need to observe 7 days of silence. At the same time, Ukrainian diplomats, either intentionally or through oversight, lost sight of the fact that a seven-day silence regime is not necessary to eliminate violations and restore disengagement in these areas. This is the approach that the OSCE also supports,” she said.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, in this way Kyiv is repeating the tactics of ex-President Petro Poroshenko, who by all means delayed the fulfillment of his obligations to implement the previously signed Minsk agreements.
“We consider this approach categorically unacceptable and once again call on the guarantor countries of the Minsk agreements not to turn a blind eye to the sabotage of the peaceful settlement by the Ukrainian side and, since the elimination of violations in these two areas was one of the conditions for holding the summit of leaders of the Normandy Format, we hope for an appropriate reaction to actions of Ukraine. We are confident that this is the only way to influence the attitude of official Kyiv towards its responsibilities to resolve the conflict,” Nikonorova concluded.
