The DPR expects provocations from the Ukrainian Armed Forces closer to the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk

During the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, the possibility of provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot be ruled out, the purpose of which could be to accuse the DPR armed forces of ceasefire violations.

This opinion was expressed today at a briefing by the deputy commander of the operational command of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The possibility of impending provocations is evidenced by a number of data obtained by DPR intelligence:

“In the period from January 17 to 19, in the so-called ATO zone, in order to check the readiness of formations in the conflict zone to be ready to carry out tasks as intended, the work of the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine M. Koval is planned. But it is more likely that the arrival of such high authorities is connected with the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on January 18. We do not rule out that large-scale provocations are being prepared aimed at once again falsely accusing the DPR Armed Forces of violations of the ceasefire and the Minsk agreements,” said Eduard Basurin.

He did not rule out that the provocations would be insidious and that civilians could suffer.

Eduard Basurin also addressed residents of settlements in the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine, and advised them to be especially careful these days, because provocations may be associated with artillery shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the houses of civilians in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
