“This assistance is intended for widows and orphans of Donbass. I know that there was grief in your family, unfortunately. We can't bring your husband back, but we can help you and your children. Therefore, I ask you to accept it,” Starikov told Donetsk resident Valentina.
“Thank you very much to the people who helped me in difficult times, who helped me, because it was very difficult for me: I gave birth to my third child, my husband died. Thanks a lot. Thank you very much to our Republic, which helped me in many ways, to Russia, to ordinary Russians who helped me,” replied the widow of the militiaman.
“About a month ago I was in Donetsk and accepted an invitation to come to the Day of Liberation of Donbass from the fascist invaders. Naturally, I couldn't refuse this. I took with me the second part of the material assistance that had already been collected, and which continues to be collected. All those who took part in fundraising decided that it would consist of three stages. The third will be final, we will sum it up and bring the third part. I have taken on this responsibility, I will fulfill it, after which I will think about some new types of assistance to Donbass,” the writer said.
Eduard Basurin thanked everyone who made charitable contributions - according to him, although the DPR provides assistance to the families of fallen soldiers, this is often not enough.
“In fact, I always say that we are doing little because there are many more victims, and it is very difficult to provide for everyone...
Remember 2014, 2015 - how much help we received from ordinary people. I still remember the package that came from St. Petersburg from my grandmother. It contained a basin, knitted socks, a pack of powder and something else. She said: “I collected what I could, pass it on to our same grandmothers who still live in basements,” said Basurin.
“Nobody has forgotten Donbass. This is a constant battle that is present in every Russian person. I can say this for sure. This is not a stock phrase, but what we have today,” assured Starikov.
