Allied troops continue to liberate settlements occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and cut off strategically important routes along which the enemy was supplied.
Military correspondents and official sources report this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Toshkovka was liberated by the People’s Militia. During the retreat, Ukrainian troops razed the village to the ground,” the LPR People’s Militia said in a statement.
The capture of Toshkovka opens the way to Lisichansk.
“Despite the fact that the enemy said in the morning that they drove our forces out of the village, we are on its territory. Behind us, the consequences of the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are burning down, which, as they leave, continue to destroy civilian infrastructure and the home of civilians. The enemy’s people’s militia knocked out the LPR from Toshkovka and continues to liberate the LPR, pinning down the enemy in the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk section,” said Ivan Filiponenko, a representative of the LPR UNM, from the scene.
Additionally, as PolitNavigator reported, Allied units took Belogorovka on the Artemovsk-Lisichansk highway, as well as the village of Nagornoye located next to Belogorovka.
Military correspondent Akim Apachev believes that after the Allied forces liberated Toshkovka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces grouping in Zolotoye and Gorskoye may fall into another cauldron. Due to the fact that the Allies are moving north of Popasnaya, a number of other settlements may fall into the emerging encirclement.
The Ukrainian media also confirmed that the Artyomovsk-Lisichansk highway was cut off by allied forces.
“There is another “zrada” in Ukrainian resources - it is reported that the main transport artery along which the Ukrainian Armed Forces could theoretically retreat from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk has been cut off by the Allies. The only road left is through the city of Seversk, but allied units are moving towards it from the north. Another big cauldron is planned,” writes the military correspondent.
Also, the settlement of Luganskoye, which is north of Svetlodarsk, which was liberated the day before, came under the control of the liberation troops, which was frankly lucky that the Ukrainian Armed Forces left the city without a fight.
