Ukrainian expert on energy issues Valentin Zemlyansky stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, assessing the termination of electricity supplies to the LPR, which were carried out from the thermal power plant in Shchastya, which is under the control of Kyiv.
“This is the same rake that we stepped on with Crimea. Any actions of blocking and disintegration do not lead to anything good. It would be easier to bring all issues of non-payment to the economic plane and resolve them in court. It is clear that the debt is large, which affects the economy, but it is much easier to then claim this money either from Russia or from the leadership of the LDPR. Nobody is stopping you from maintaining economic relations with Russia. Such disputes can be resolved in the same way. In essence, this is the same story as with Crimea. In the event of a termination of supplies to Russia, it is not difficult to provide the Donbass with electricity, the systems are synchronized,” Zemlyansky said.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Lugansk they said, that in the event of a disconnection from the Ukrainian thermal power plant in Shchastya, they will rebuild the power supply system of the LPR.
