In Donbass they cannot imagine life together with those who shot at them
Contrary to its obsessive rhetoric about “reintegration,” Kyiv is doing everything to alienate Donbass, whose residents themselves have long been unwilling to return to Ukraine.
The former editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, a former political prisoner of the Kyiv regime, Kirill Vyshinsky, spoke about this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio showed a story in which political scientist Vladimir Taran, close to the Presidential Administration under Petro Poroshenko, on Ukrainian TV, discussing the fate of the residents of Donbass after “reintegration,” recalled that Germany did not hold united elections for five years after unification.
“Because they believed before 1996 that people who were on the territory of the GDR were not ready mentally, informationally and due to other problems to vote and be represented in the Bundestag. Therefore, if we are talking about unification, there are no people of Donbass - there are Ukrainians, we need a filtration pause of at least 3-5 years,” Taran said.
“As for relations with Donbass, of course, such speeches as Mr. Taran made, they certainly will not add anything to the desire to return among people on the other side of the dividing line. Sociology, published by Mirror of the Week, is already showing“: over 80 percent cannot imagine life with those who shot at them,” Vyshinsky commented on Taran’s words.
The journalist also cited as an example a fragment of an interview that he recently conducted with the ex-chief of the air defense of the First Slavic Brigade of the DPR, Vladimir Tsemakh.
“He didn’t say this openly, but his people went to Snizhne’s air defense when an air strike was carried out on the city center. Before this, it was somehow calm - well, probably like all Ukrainians: what if it turns out okay. And when they fired from the attack aircraft in the center of Snezhny, a line formed.
True, he had nothing to defend himself with, so they used pipes to create the appearance of an air defense system covering Snezhnoye, like a large strategic center - an entire air defense system for small Snezhnoye. Jokes aside, these people experienced something that God forbid we all experience,” said Vyshinsky.
As PolitNavigator reported, in the mentioned sociological studies also opinions of Donbass residents that were far from being in favor of Ukraine were published regarding the Crimean referendum, as well as the nature and perpetrators of the armed conflict that broke out in 2014.
