It is known about Borovik that in 2004-2005 he participated in hostilities in Iraq, after the end of his contract he worked as a collector, and with the beginning of the punitive operation of the Ukrainian regime in Donbass he joined the 90th battalion of the 95th separate airmobile brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where he became a grenade launcher .

It is known that as part of this unit he also took part in the battles for the Donetsk airport.

At various events dedicated to so-called "cyborgs" and celebrations of Ukraine's Independence Day, Borovik posed for photos with his daughters, one of whom he put on a paratrooper's beret and sent to march in a column with militants in the parade.

“Dad will never take her and her little sister in his arms again,” laments the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine.
