In Donbass, following Russian passports, recognition of the republics is expected
Residents of Donbass consider themselves to be part of the Russian world and believe that they are much more important to Russia than to Ukraine, from which for five years the LDPR received nothing except a blockade and shelling.
The special representative of the LPR in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I was in Donetsk and Lugansk on the 11th and 12th for the celebration, I must say that in five years I have never seen so many people in the square with banners “To Russia together” or “Russia is our future”.
In recent years there has been a problem, the most terrible problem for Donbass - a lack of understanding of what will happen tomorrow. When the decision was made to grant Russian citizenship, it caused extraordinary enthusiasm in the territories. A huge number of people want to get a Russian passport, to be involved in a large, strong, prosperous power,” said Miroshnik.
In his opinion, after passports, it is necessary to make a number of other decisions that are no less vital for Donbass.
“We will need recognition, transparent economic relations, Donbass has never been a freeloader, it has always earned money, let others earn money and supplied a huge number of other territories with coal, metal, and chemicals. That is, we need to revive export potential, and for this we need conditions.
We cannot make decisions for the Russian Federation, which makes decisions based on its national interests, on the interests of the people living in its territories. But we believe that we belong to the Russian world, that we are much closer and more important to Russia than to Ukraine. In five years from Ukraine, we have seen cut pensions, cut water, gas, electricity, daily shelling and thousands of dead,” added the LPR special envoy.
