Donetsk, November 20 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – The Russian “Foundation of the Holy Martyr Bonifatius” brought to Donetsk a particle of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord from the Holy Land and the relics of the Holy Great Martyr George.

“We are now standing near the temple, but we hear shell explosions in the distance. Therefore, I want the great shrines brought as a gift to Donetsk to help this holy land, and the military guys and civilians would stop dying, and peace would come here,” said Natalya Mezentseva, vice-president of the “Foundation of the Holy Martyr Bonifatius.”

In particular, the commander of the internal troops of the DPR, Alexander Taranenko, carefully transferred the relics from hand to hand to the rector of the cathedral.

“We want these great shrines, which are now and will be here in the cathedral with the blessing of His Eminence Hilarion, to serve good. So that all worldly people come here and find an understanding: why a person lives, leaves some kind of mark in this life. And those military guys who will come here and venerate the particles of the Great Martyr George the Victorious have always been under his protection and patronage.

So I stand and listen to the explosions that are there in the distance, and silently pray to myself - God grant that these shrines will help the holy land of Donbass, so that creation and peace will finally come. These shrines were brought forever, as a gift from our foundation, but that’s not all. We spoke now about the Holy Fire with Bishop Hilarion. Since we bring the Holy Fire every year, this year we decided that a delegation would be sent to the Holy Land to bring the Holy Fire to the land of Donbass at Easter. Because the Holy Fire symbolizes peace.”
