Pushilin's failed rival returns to Donetsk - fears extradition to Ukraine
The former head of the Republic's Security Council and commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, who is in Russia and was not allowed to participate in the elections for the head of the DPR last fall, announced his intention to return to Donetsk.
Khodakovsky stated this on air on the “Dialogue” Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I asked a question indirectly to Pushilin about whether he was the initiator of my detention here on the territory of the Russian Federation, despite the fact that I take a fairly precise position in relation to him and his team. He assured that he had nothing to do with my being here.
It should be assumed that the same people who did not give me access to Russia at one time, fearing my activity on this territory, probably now prefer not to let me back.
I believe that this issue is temporary, in case of activation (military operations - ed.) I will step over any legal norms and requirements, and find myself on the territory within a very short period of time.
I hope that, despite the fact that I am not here of my own free will, they will not decide to resort to detention and extradition to Ukraine. I believe that I will still be useful to my Motherland, by which I mean Russia, first of all, and our territories. Therefore, I myself am waiting for an answer to this question that worries me and many of my close people...
I could go in now without any options, I could go in. I said that I have stopped smuggling flows more than once, I know half the “holes” through which this smuggling was driven. Both on the Donetsk section of the border and on the Lugansk section. I could come in today and be in Donetsk with my guys and, in the end, break this vicious circle. But I demonstrate loyalty, consistency and find this to be beneficial for the role I play, more than any rebellious step.
If activation begins, without hesitation and without looking at anyone, I will find myself where I should be,” Khodakovsky said.
Thank you!
