“My sons and I will take part in patrolling the Leninsky, Kuibyshevsky and Kievsky districts,” he wrote.
“Over the past 10 days, the number of crimes using firearms has sharply increased in Donetsk. The situation is becoming critical given the fact that many unregistered weapons are “in the hands” of the population, but at the same time, the police handed over their weapons in order to avoid their seizure,” Bogachev explained.
According to him, “the services of the prosecutor’s office and the Security Service of Ukraine practically do not work.”
“To prevent crimes, city authorities, through district councils, from tomorrow are forced to ask residents to patrol residential areas and neighborhoods using the residents themselves. Instruction and deployment of patrols will be carried out by district executive committees and district departments of internal affairs,” added the secretary of the city council.
As Navigator reported, the head of the Donetsk city police department, Yuriy Sednev, explained that the police do not normally perform their functions due to low morale, so they use the help of the rioters.
