People in Donetsk are wondering why the Ukrainian Armed Forces have reduced the intensity of shelling
Over the past three months, the Ukrainian army has noticeably reduced the intensity of artillery shelling of peaceful Donbass cities and the front line.
Military correspondent and TV presenter Nadana Friedrichson stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Have you seen the vaunted tanks and multiple launch rocket systems that Ukraine so lacks, as Zelensky constantly talks about? Does it appear and how effectively is it used? Have you seen and what are they saying? – the presenter asked.
“We all experienced Western weapons first hand in the summer, because the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired them at Donetsk, including the central streets, where there was no movement of military equipment or soldiers at all. Only civilians moved there. So, in the summer, and until December, they very actively fired at Donetsk with Western weapons,” Friedrichson answered.
Voenkor emphasized that over the past few months the intensity of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has decreased significantly, but Ukraine can save shells for use in the future.
“What happens since the new year is a big question. Because even in Donetsk it continues to fly, but pinpointed and locally, only on the outskirts of the city and not with the same intensity as in summer or winter. And the same thing began to happen in different parts of the front line. For some reason, the Ukrainian side stopped spitting out so much artillery.
And many are wondering what is happening. Or a shell famine, as, for example, in Bakhmut, because their supply was cut off. Or for some reason they are saving these shells for something. And there is no clear answer,” she added.
Friedrichson noted that there is no dominance of Western military equipment at the front.
“As for equipment, Leopards, Bradleys and all that. Personally, I have never heard from the military that they have seen this equipment in those sectors of the front where they work.
But the front line is huge, I cannot say that I have passed every piece of this very line. Those areas where I was, and the military men with whom I spoke, were not observed,” the military correspondent summed up.
