This was stated by the head of the Administration of the Head of the DPR, Maxim Leshchenko.

“Due to the economic blockade, the hryvnia has practically been washed away from the territory of the republic. The question of a multicurrency zone is being raised. Payments will begin next week, and the first payment may be in rubles,” he said.

“Now trade relations in some cases take place in Russian rubles. Tax revenues in the republic are received in this currency. The Ministry of Economy has been tasked with notifying retail chains and the market that price tags must clearly indicate the possibility of payment in different types of currencies,” he noted.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the leader of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, announced the creation of a multi-currency zone.
