As Navigator reported, at about 12:00 the Ukrainian military began shelling residential areas of Donetsk from artillery.
The shells hit the central areas of the city, causing damage mainly to residential buildings, commercial facilities and infrastructure structures. Directly in the city center, 4 explosions occurred in the area of the “Emerald” store (the intersection of Universitetskaya St. and Mira Ave.).
Windows in houses are broken and there is destruction. Several strong explosions were heard in the area of Shakhtarskaya Square.
On the street Batishchev firefighters put out a fire: the 9th and 8th floors of a residential building are burning. On the same street, house No. 3 was hit by shells from the 2nd to 6th floors. There, a grocery store was destroyed by a direct hit from a shell.
Presumably, residential buildings were fired from GRAD launchers. Shooting can be heard almost throughout the city.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, large-caliber shells damaged multi-storey residential buildings on Treneva Street, 5b, st. Rosa Luxemburg, 73 and the administrative building at 2 Batishcheva Street. Parked cars were also damaged. Ambulance teams went to all addresses.
To the city ponds of the park of culture and recreation named after. A.S. Shcherbakov was hit by three shells. Now the population in the area of Treneva and Batishcheva streets, as well as visitors and park employees, is being evacuated to shelters and safe zones.
