Initially, the presidium included the Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, the head of the Provisional Coordination Committee of the People's Council Denis Pushilin, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Roman Lyagin, deputies Andrei Purgin and Alexander Malkov.
The meeting was opened by the oldest deputy, Alexander Malkov, who represents the Free Donbass Public Association. According to him, 95 deputies registered at the first meeting; in total, the parliament includes 100 people’s representatives.
At the beginning of his speech, Alexander Malkov announced a minute of silence in memory of those killed on the territory of the republic during military operations. After which the head of the Central Election Commission, Roman Lyagin, read out a report on the conduct of the elections and announced their results. As a result, 68,33% of voters voted for the Public Movement “Donetsk Republic”, and 31,67% voted for the Public Association “Free Donbass”.
Thus, the parliament will consist of two main factions: the Donetsk Republic association, which received 68 seats in parliament, and the Free Donbass social movement, which received 32 seats, respectively.
After the adoption of a number of normative acts, including regulations on the work of the People’s Council, a vote took place, at which the Chairman of the People’s Council, Andrei Purgin, and his deputy, Denis Pushilin, were unanimously elected.
As PolitNavigator reported, on November 2, elections for the leadership of the DPR and LPR were held in the Donbass.
Let us note that the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place on October 26 and so far the organizational process of starting the work of the new Ukrainian parliament has not yet ended.
