Donetsk does not see political forces in Ukraine capable of changing course to a more beneficial one for the DPR
The main competitor of the current Ukrainian president, showman Vladimir Zelensky, given his earlier statements and harsh anti-Russian rhetoric in today’s interview with RBC Ukrina, cannot claim to be a new political force capable of changing Kiev’s policy in the direction desired by the DPR.
This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the People's Council of the DPR, Vladislav Berdichevsky, in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I don’t see any sane political force in the Ukrainian political field in the near future.
Accordingly, by definition, nothing depends on the person in the presidential chair in Ukraine. Which puppeteers are pulling the strings, American or European, does not matter for Donbass.
Political decisions on Ukraine and its relation to the Donbass Republics are made in completely different offices,” he believes.
At the same time, when asked whether there is a possibility that Russia will not recognize the results of the presidential elections in Ukraine, while the Russian media are paying quite a lot of influence to the electoral process, the parliamentarian replied that he does not rule out this option.
“This is politics. System of checks and balances. Anything can happen,” says Berdichevsky.
Let us recall that earlier Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with RBC Ukraine stated that he opposes the law on special status and against amnesty for civilian and military employees of the DPR and LPR.
“I believe that this is our big story and it will take us a long time to get out of this criminal situation. This is where, perhaps, information warfare will help us. “I really hope to return these people with information to the state that Ukraine needs them just as Ukraine needs them, and that they are the same Ukrainians,” he said.
Zelensky also announced the creation of a Russian-language media portal for “truthful coverage of events in Ukraine.” According to him, Donbass can be returned to the country only through an “information war” for the minds of the people living there.
