According to one version, the real target of the assassination attempt was the chairman of the “Supreme Council” of the Donetsk People’s Republic, but Pushilin himself was not injured. According to representatives of the DPR, at the time of the assassination attempt he was at his workplace - in the government building, the former building of DonOGA.
It is unknown what the true reasons and motives for the crime are. It is also still being clarified who ordered and carried out this murder. In the DPR, what happened is called a terrorist attack and they talk about the “Interception” plan.
Today nothing reminds us of yesterday’s tragedy. Movement along the block. Pushkin and Teatralny Prospekt have been restored, the cafe is open.
First of all, people are outraged by the audacity with which the crime was committed. Firstly, this is the central part of the city, well controlled by law enforcement forces, and where literally every meter is monitored by external surveillance cameras.
Secondly, even during the day there are a lot of passers-by on the boulevard, and the cafe itself is popular, and there are a lot of visitors there. But the main thing is that exactly twenty meters away there is an open children's playground, which is never empty at this time. It was just a fluke that no one else was hurt.
At the crime scene itself, we found virtually no characteristic traces of shooting, neither in the trees, nor in the windows of houses or cafes. Only in one place, approximately 12 meters from the scene of the tragedy, two bullets partially knocked down and damaged the brick lining on an artificial elevation.
According to a representative of law enforcement agencies, today the investigation does not have any specific information about the details of the incident.
