Donetsk explained its position regarding the creation of security zones
The parties to the conflict in Donbass must implement previously reached agreements, and not create new ones. Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR Denis Pushilin told reporters in Donetsk today, answering a question about the initiative to introduce security zones in areas where important infrastructure facilities are located.

“I am not a supporter of security zones, based on the fact that there are certain agreements that have been reached and that should work. I mean the agreements on the disengagement of forces and assets. Initially there were three pilot sections, then there should have been further sections along the entire line of contact,” Pushilin noted.
He emphasized that as soon as the disengagement of forces and assets occurs along the entire line of contact, there will simply be no need to allocate any zones, since it will not be possible to shell the entire territory.
“Why can’t the same village of Oktyabrsky and other settlements along the contact line be considered a security zone? People also live there, which is the most precious thing for us. Infrastructure facilities are also very important for us, but it is important that previously reached agreements are fully implemented. Now it is not entirely advisable to talk about some new ones without completing the old ones. It is necessary to fulfill agreements, and not create new ones,” Pushilin concluded
