Explosions of shells can be heard in residential areas near the railway station.
There are reports of direct hits from shells on residential buildings and commercial properties. Strong cannonade can be heard in the Makeevka area, in the Vostochny and Zeleny microdistricts. Information is being received about shell explosions on Chervonogvardeisky Avenue in Donetsk.
The Petrovsky district of the city is subject to the most intense shelling. As a result of a direct hit by a shell, school No. 151 was completely destroyed, 12 residential buildings were hit, and there were numerous casualties and wounded civilians.
Automatic and machine gun fire can also be heard in the central areas of the city. In particular, near the Ramada hotel there was a short battle with the use of small arms. Information about the victims is being clarified.
According to information coming from residents of Makeyevka, street battles are taking place on the outskirts of the city. Intense machine gun fire, shots from under-barrel grenade launchers and grenade explosions can be heard.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stated that street battles were taking place in Ilovaisk and Lugansk between militias and ATO forces.
