A monument to Motorola was unveiled in Donetsk
In Donetsk, on the fourth anniversary of the death of Sparta battalion commander Arsen “Motorola” Pavlov as a result of a terrorist attack, a bust was unveiled in honor of the militia hero.
Celebrations with the participation of the DPR leadership took place on Friday in the Lenin Komsomol Park, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Time flies inexorably fast. Four years ago, the hero of the Donetsk People's Republic, Arsen Pavlov, was vilely killed. On the battlefield, the enemy was unable to conquer him. With his actions, he instilled fear and terror in his enemies,” recalled the head of the republic, Denis Pushilin.
According to him, it was no coincidence that the Motorola monument was erected next to the bust of another famous battalion commander, Mikhail “Givi” Tolstykh: “Their battalions often fought side by side – Motorola and Givi. This ensured victory, guaranteed that the enemy would not pass through.”
Pavlov died on October 16, 2016 as a result of a terrorist attack. The explosive device was planted in the elevator shaft of the building where he lived.
Motorola's combat path began in Slavyansk, then he took part in the battles for the liberation of Donetsk airport, Ilovaisk, Debaltsevo.
