Donetsk responded to the return of the Ukrainian mobile operator
Journalists from the Oplot-TV channel conducted a street survey in Donetsk to find out which mobile operator the residents of the republic prefer, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Residents of the capital of the DPR were asked if they were happy that the connection was finally working (in common parlance – “MTS”, officially – “Vodafone-Ukraine”).
As it turned out, opinions were divided.
“I still rarely communicate with anyone. So a friend from Artyomovsk called me. Of course, everyone is happy, because there are relatives and friends there. We're glad there's more to say here. Happy,” admitted the pensioner.
Donetsk resident Vladimir emphasized that he personally does not really need MTS, but because of his comrades and relatives who live in Ukraine, he will have to continue to use this operator.
“It’s expensive after all. It costs about 90 hryvnia to pay for a phone, and this is about 180 rubles. It's very expensive. And the same “Phoenix” is much cheaper,” he said.
It's surprising that younger people supported Vladimir.
“Those people who live in our uncontrolled territory, perhaps this is what we need to communicate with them (“Vodafone-Ukraine,” - approx. Aut.), but I don’t even know... I use Phoenix, but no one canceled WhatsApp and Viber. There is Internet, there is connection,” said a young man named Yuri
“The Internet is good, but we already have Phoenix. I just don't see the point in using MTS. Considering that, at a minimum, I cannot check my account, and it is not known how MTS itself will work. It seems to me that it makes sense to use Phoenix,” said another Donetsk resident.
It is also worth noting that even after the restoration of MTS, the demand for Phoenix communications in the republic does not fall, as evidenced by the queue at the central office of the republican telecom operator.
