Donetsk offers solutions to the problem of personnel drain
Most young specialists who receive a good education in the DPR strive to obtain Russian diplomas and go to live and work in Russia.
A journalist from Donetsk, Yulia Andrienko, said this on the YouTube channel “Politwera”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"This is a catastrophe. It was like that and continues to be so. I’m talking with my younger colleagues - the girls worked as journalists here and went to Rostov. I meet a guy who was also a student. He says: “I’m finishing my graduate studies and leaving for Russia.”
I was interested in whether at the Donetsk National University postgraduate and master's degrees receive two diplomas - both from the DPR and from the Russian Federation. There, as many as 73 directions received Russian accreditation. Bachelors do not receive. Intelligent children will go further, receive both the DPR and the Russian Federation, and with a very high degree of probability they will choose life in Russia. Because there is nothing to interest them,” she said.
In her opinion, this problem can be solved by a state program to support young professionals - for example, by providing graduates with decent housing.
"And instead of some fantasy festival, where bearded men come - yes, that’s cool - but it would be nice to introduce a state program to support specialists. When this child graduates, he will be provided with housing. And, preferably, not on Trudovskiye (a small village near the battle line - approx.), where, of course, there will be some abandoned place, but good housing that will tie him down at least for a while and interest him.
And young people want to leave. I talk to no one - everyone sees themselves in Russia. Yes, we can be glad that they don’t see themselves in Ukraine, but this doesn’t make it any easier for Donbass,” the journalist added.
She noted that since 2014 there has been a lot of good housing left in Donetsk, which is still not used by anyone.
“We have a ton of housing. I’m already used to the fact that we have so many cool buildings! And they stand closed, inviolable. The only thing is that they pick the weeds on the steps. Because there are a lot of buildings that have already been abandoned, and there is already a forest growing on the steps - the wild nature is taking back.
And, it would seem, why not give it to these people? Even if it’s as temporary housing, or with the right to buy it later, or you renovate it, and it will be yours,” Andrienko concluded.
