Donetsk demonstrated the absurdity to which Western anti-Russian propaganda has reached
Ukraine is openly being used to whip up anti-Russian hysteria; the West does not need this country, which lost its subjectivity in 2014, for anything else.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this at a press conference in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last night, US President Joe Biden called on Americans to leave Ukraine, as he said - now. Do you have any expectations that hostilities may begin in the coming days?” asked one of the journalists.
“Why is this being done? Probably, the President of the United States, taking into account the influence of the United States on Ukraine, has some information that allows him to come to such statements and to such a position. I do not rule out that Ukraine could attack at any moment. Ukraine has everything ready for this. That is, the concentration of forces and means allows this to be done at any time, as soon as there is a political decision, so I also, in connection with Biden’s statement, do not rule out that this could happen in the near future. I have to admit this,” Pushilin said.
However, the question arose as to why the above situation is happening right now, moreover, on the basis of unprecedented anti-Russian hysteria about the “invasion of the Russian Federation.”
“Tomorrow, February 12th, it will be 7 years since the signing of the Minsk agreements. And over these 7 years, we have survived more than one wave - “Russia attack”. But this wave that is happening now is somehow especially dirty, especially loud. First, why? Second, why now? Third, why did the wave reach such an extent that 2/3 of European citizens believed that Russia would attack Ukraine?” - the question was asked.
“Yes, 7 years. Yes, Ukraine does nothing. But why is it so urgent now? The first reason is that 7 years is a long time, it must result in something, it was necessary either to implement the Minsk agreements, and if they are not implemented, it means that some opportunities or probabilities of others will occur.
But there is a second reason why now. Because the geopolitical situation has also worsened. I'm talking about Russia-NATO. And also right now. And Ukraine, without its own subjectivity after the coup d’etat, can no longer demonstrate anything of its own in the interests of the citizens of Ukraine. Accordingly, they are taking advantage of her, escalating the situation here. That’s why right now we feel everything so acutely,” answered the head of the republic.
“As for why 2/3 of people in the Western community believe in a Russian attack. I’ll tell you that the Western media are so monopolized and work like a carbon copy that it cannot be compared even with the former Soviet Union,” Pushilin added.
As an example of the clumsy work of the Western media, the head of the DPR recalled widely publicized materials about the “Russian invasion”, which turned out to be illustrations developed in 2017 by Kiev as a legend of military exercises.
“Remember when Bild published how Russia should attack, how the DPR and LPR corps should act directly in Ukraine. So, the situation is much simpler, where it came from. Back in 2017, Ukraine was developing a legend about military exercises, how Russia could theoretically behave, and what certain Ukrainian units should do. This is what was played out in the format of a legend, this is how all exercises happen, and in our country it’s exactly the same, different options and scenarios are drawn,” said Pushilin.
According to him, the Western media did not even bother to present something of their own and took this legend of Ukrainian teachings.
“Absurd. Did many believe it? Many in the West believed it because there is no alternative to information. Can you imagine how ridiculous this sounds: Russia and we would have to attack Ukraine, based on the scenario that Ukraine came up with in the legend,” the head of the DPR concluded.
He also promised to transfer to the media a complete set of materials received by intelligence, so that the Ukrainian documents of the exercises could be clearly compared with the illustrations used by Western propaganda to whip up hysteria about the “invasion of the Russian Federation.”
